Andrew Heywood Hughes

Founder and Managing Director

Andrew takes great pride in getting things done. At the age of 14,  he contracted Guillain-Barre Syndrome and was paralysed from the neck down, spending a year and a half in hospital and the better part of four more dependent on a wheelchair.
After that, nothing is too difficult, no problem is without solution and no challenge is too daunting.

He has been an Executive Director at specialist acute and mental health providers, and a GP Federation; Commercial Advisor to a regional acute provider; Senior Independent Director (NED) at a Foundation Trust; Chair of a joint venture development company; Clinical Tutor at a postgraduate Medical School; and a Council Member of the country's largest Chamber of Commerce and Industry.​​​

He has been the Safeguarding Trustee and Chair of the Risk Committee of a national charity, and the Chair of a regional Hospice for Children and Young People.

Andrew is Patron of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Billy

Head of Light Entertanment

Billy is an ex-racer greyhound and is currently living his best life at ANHH HQ.

As the boss of the office, he can be a major distraction at times and is well known for stealing everyone's lunch on a daily basis.

In spite of this, Billy is well-loved by everyone and is a big part of the ANHH family.

Sindy Jones

Operations Director

Sindy is an experienced Company Secretary and governance lead, having worked in the third, academic, and commercial sectors. 

Sindy was Company Secretary for The Donna Louise Hospice for Children and Young People in Stoke-on-Trent, and its subsidiary company, for four years up until mid-March 2021.  Registered with Companies House, Sindy advised and supported the Board of Trustees and senior executives at one of the most challenging periods in the Hospice’s history.

Sindy was the stabilising force for the charity during a significant period of transition for the charity, with multiple changes in Executives, Chairs, and other Trustees.  She was responsible for the collation and coordination of papers for the Board and the three Committees – Quality Governance, Finance and Audit, and Risk. 

Sindy worked for 18 years in the Law School at Keele University as extenuating circumstances lead.

Jayne Phillips

Principal Conultant (HR & OD)

Jayne is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, with expertise in organisational culture and strategic change.

She began her career with the Civil Service before moving into senior roles in social housing, local government, and the third sector.

Jayne has been a Chief Executive and has positively contributed to boards as a Non-Executive Director. She has conducted several organisational strengths reviews for charities.

Mason Fitzgerald

Principal Consultant (Board Development and Collaboratives)

Mason has significant experience as an Executive Director of corporate services, and has worked with organisations across all sectors to review internal structures and processes.

Mason has led and developed a wide range of corporate functions (strategy, HR and OD, governance, and performance) as well as establishing a programme management office. 

Mason has worked with 15 of the country's
42 ICBs.

Dr Nasreen Fazal-Short

EDI and Population Health

Nasreen is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and an expert in EDI.

Now an independent practitioner,

Nasreen has held very senior roles in the NHS including as a Executive Director of Operations, Clinical Director, and Director and Head of Psychological Services.

In 2020, Nasreen became National Chair of the British Psychological Society’s Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce.

Alex Rickard

Executive Coaching

Alex has over 25 years’ global experience in executive HR leadership.

Alex has worked for Arthur Andersen, Equitas, Rubus Consulting, Temenos Plc, and Towry (now Tilney Smith Williamson).

As a qualified business coach, Alex works with executives, boards, and aspiring leaders during times of change and complexity.

Martin Evans

Communications and Engagement

Martin is an experienced natural leader, communicator, and mentor, with proven success in demanding environments.

Martin has worked as a general manager and a communications specialist in the NHS.  He retired as a senior officer after a 20-year career in the RAF, having led operational teams all over the world. 

Martin is a committed fundraiser, supporter of Papyrus, and Trustee of a Kenyan charity.

Jessica Lubin

Partnership and Co-Production

Jessica is Director of Health Transformation and Partnerships at a London-based charity and works with ANHH on system leadership.

Jessica has a diverse health and social care frontline, commercial and management experience, with a passion for the people aspect of health – how people work in systems and engage communities.

Jessica has advanced qualitative research and analysis skills.

Legal and Contract Management

Sally is a Registered General Nurse with a Law degree and an MSc in Leadership.

 

She is a highly experienced leader in the public, independent and third sectors.

Sally is a Trustee of Derbyshire Districts Citizens Advice Bureau.

Jo Cadman

Evaluation and Impact

Jo is a qualified accountant with 20 years’ leadership experience across varied responsibilities at Board level.

Jo has led an NHS merger, set up provider collaboratives, overseen extensive transformation and improvement programmes – and the organisational development to deliver them – strengthened governance, and worked with Boards to develop and deliver strategic solutions for sustainable change.

Hayley Higginbottom

Finance and Facilities

Hayley has over 20 years’ experience in both charity accounts and estates. She is proven as an inspirational, ethical leader who can manage and motivate through change, whilst ensuring tactical delivery of business goals is achieved.

Hayley was Head of Finance & Resources for the Donna Louise Trust in Stoke-on-Trent, with full responsibility for the charity’s statutory finances and regulated operations.

Since joining ANHH, Hayley has consulted on projects across third and public sectors.
